I drew this Westie for my friend, Matthew Schniper. His name is Moses and he's a handsome fellow who loves to patrol the garden.
I liked the cross hatching here but since I didn't have a protractor on hand I just went with solid letters on the final piece.
One of the challenges with this painting was the fact that Westies are white which means If I wanted any noticeable color I had to color things other than Moses. In the reference photo provided to me Moses is sitting in front of a bowl of strawberries in the garden. This gave me that splash of red to contrast the bushes in the background.
Here we have Matt's lovely hands showing off his new art piece with the reference photo I used.
